Express GST and Greenote: which does what

A cloud GST filing and reconciliation platform from KDK, which its own site describes as built for enterprises and multi-GSTIN businesses. No price is published.

Express GST is KDK’s dedicated GST platform, and its site is clear about its buyer: enterprises and businesses with many GSTINs. It files the monthly and annual returns and reconciles almost everything against everything else. Greenote does not file, and it is built for a CA practice rather than a corporate tax team.

So these two are rarely a straight choice. If you run GST for a group of companies, Express GST is the kind of product you need. If you run a practice and want each client’s books in Tally to be right before the return is prepared, that is what Greenote does.

Who Express GST suits

  • A company or group with several GSTINs and a finance team.

  • A business that needs e-way bill, e-invoice and books matched against each other.

  • A team that wants GST notices tracked in the same place.

What Express GST by KDK Software costs

Express GST does not publish a price. It offers a free trial without a card. Ask them for a written quote. We read their pages on 11 October 2026 and will not guess a figure.

When Express GST is the better choice

Greenote does not do what Express GST does. These are the cases where it is the one to buy.

  • You need to file, for many GSTINs. That is its purpose. Greenote does not file.

  • You need reconciliations Greenote does not do: e-way bill against GSTR-1, 2B against e-invoice, books against e-way bill.

  • You need e-invoices generated in bulk across your GSTINs. Their page says it does that from one Excel file. Greenote does not generate e-invoices.

  • You are a larger business rather than a practice. Their own page is addressed to enterprises.

Express GST and Greenote: common questions

Does Greenote file GST returns like Express GST?
No. Greenote does not file GST returns. It prepares the workings and the checks, and you file on the GST portal or in your filing software. Greenote does not generate e-invoices or e-way bills. If you need software to file with, Express GST is that kind of product and Greenote is not.
What does Greenote do for GST, then?
GSTR-2B reconciliation, GSTR-3B working, GSTR-1 check, Supplier filing check, Book a month's purchases from 2B and GSTR-9 working. All of it is in the Books and GST and All-in-One plans.
Can I use Greenote together with Express GST?
Yes, and for most practices that is the sensible arrangement. Greenote gets the books into Tally and checks them; Express GST is where the return is prepared and filed. The two do not pass data to each other, so you carry the figures across yourself.
How much does Greenote cost compared with Express GST?
The GST work is in the Books and GST plan, which is ₹11,999 a year for one person and includes everything in Starter. All-in-One, which is every plan together with the office around them, is ₹14,999. No GST is added on top. Express GST does not publish a price we could read on 11 October 2026, so ask them directly for a current figure rather than relying on any third-party page.
Can I try Greenote first?
Yes. We set up every free trial on a short call, so it is ready for your own statements. The free trial runs for 2 days or 10 statements, whichever comes first, and needs no card. If you need more statements to be sure, ask us and we will add them.
Does Greenote issue a GST invoice?
No. Greenote is not GST-registered, so no GST is added to the listed price and the amount shown is the amount charged. The trade-off is that there is no GST invoice and therefore no input tax credit for your firm. If input credit matters more to you than the headline price, a GST-registered vendor is the better commercial choice.
