Why we built Greenote

We watched accountants lose entire evenings retyping bank statements into Tally - careful, senior people doing work a computer should have finished in minutes. The tools that promised to fix it wanted the statements uploaded to somebody else’s server, which is a difficult thing to accept in a profession built on confidentiality.

So we built Greenote the way we would want it: fast, accurate, and entirely on your own machine. Your clients’ statements are read on your PC and never uploaded anywhere - not to us, not to anyone. That is a decision about architecture, not a setting, and it is not something we can quietly change later.
